Job Summary:

The Pit Clerk is responsible for data entry and various clerical functions of the casino pit. This role requires strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for data entry, which requires operating a computer and managing heavy computer input and/or information sources for hotel marketing, credit, and auditing reports.
  • Handles rating slips, fills, and credit, as well as issues and buys back markers.
  • Communicates with cage personnel to determine customer credit lines.
  • Transmits pit credit information to Cage Pit Clerks.
  • Issues and maintains credit information for marker play in the casino.
  • Balances markers to table cards and transfers markers to Casino Cage.
  • Keeps logs of all fills and credits issued on the gaming tables.
  • Generates casino comp error reports.
  • Tracks bets on tracking sheets, totals the amount played, and number of total bets made.

Qualifications:

  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form, in a professional manner.
  • Must present a neat and professional appearance.
  • Work requires a minimum age of 21.
  • Work requires ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Work requires flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Work requires proven knowledge and experience on assigned game.
  • 3 to 5 years casino experience required, preferably in pit operations.
  • Cards Required: Nevada Gaming

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands:

Fast-paced environment, multiple tasks to be managed under time constraint. Must be able to tolerate secondhand smoke. Must be able to manage a heavy business volume and sensitive situations relating to staff and guest problems in a timely manner. Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
