Substitute Nurse

As a Substitute Nurse with Santa Fe Independent School District, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational process by addressing the healthcare needs of students. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and contribute to the success of our school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in providing healthcare services to students, including administering medications, conducting health screenings, and providing first aid and CPR as needed.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of student health information, including immunization records and medical histories.
Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure seamless care and support for students.
Collaborate with school administrators to develop and implement health-related policies and procedures.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; BLS Certification in First Aid and CPR/AED preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age and have a good moral character.
Ability to maintain emotional control and focus under stress; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with children and in healthcare settings preferred.
Working Conditions:
This role requires frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting, pulling, and pushing in a school clinic setting. Occasional travel with students on field trips may be necessary. The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, noise, and hazards.
Terms of Employment:
Work year established by the Board; salary according to current schedule. Performance of this job will be evaluated annually.
