At Clarke County Hospital, we are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. As an MRI Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI and CT exams on patients, adhering to established department techniques and procedures.
- Conduct safe cleaning techniques in the MRI scan room, ensuring proper cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment.
- Develop and follow safe entry procedures into the MRI suite to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Establish patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by positioning them, adjusting immobilization devices, and using equipment controls to set exposure factors.
- Minimize radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
- Perform venipuncture as prescribed by a licensed practitioner, maintain and/or remove intravenous access, and identify, prepare, and/or administer contrast agents.
- Corroborate patient clinical history with procedure and ensure information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
Clinical Excellence:
- Maintain necessary departmental files, reports, and records of diagnostic examinations performed, according to hospital policies.
- Develop a proactive mindset towards the job, observing opportunities for improvement, formulating ideas, communicating those ideas with supervisors and/or other staff, and implementing work habits that lead to continuous quality improvement.
- Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service through quality improvement audits and activities.
Requirements:
- Graduate from an AMA-approved school or Radiologic Technology program.
- MRI and Radiography experience.
- ARRT Certification in Radiography.
- Iowa permit to practice.
- ARRT or equivalent certification in MR.
- CPR certified.
Working at Clarke County Hospital:
- Demonstrate Clarke County Hospital Standards of Behaviors and adhere to hospital policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
- Meet business needs of the department with regular, reliable attendance.
- Maintain current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
- Practice and reflect knowledge of HIPAA, DIA, DNV, OSHA, and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
- Complete all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
