We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Operating Room suite.
Key Responsibilities- Under the direction of a professional nurse, you will perform all processes related to the delivery of direct patient care and assistance in the OR prior to and during any surgical procedure.
- You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the sterile field, passing instruments, and suturing to the physician, and assisting as directed by the physician.
- You will cooperate in team planning and execution, demonstrating clinical expertise in the use and care of all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- You will maintain proper traffic control, dress codes, and adherence to OR sanitation policies and procedures.
- You will be familiar with facility policy and procedure regarding decontamination, processing, and sterilization of all instruments and supplies that are processed within the facility.
- You will demonstrate competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets the population-specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department.
- You will adapt assigned patient assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each patient served.
- BLS required
- Certification of Surgical Technologist from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required
