The Institutional Markets - Pension division at Corebridge Financial is recognized as a leading provider of pension risk management solutions. As our operations expand, we are seeking a qualified individual with expertise in actuarial science or defined benefit pension plans. Depending on the candidate's qualifications, the successful applicant may undertake one or several of the following responsibilities: (1) evaluate and underwrite pension risks, conduct actuarial analyses, and prepare proposals to assist the Head of US PRT; (2) serve as an internal project coordinator to aid the Head of US PRT in all technical aspects of new business onboarding; (3) function as a pension expert to support the call center by managing defined benefit pension plan calculations, modeling, and testing; (4) contribute to the drafting and assessment of defined benefit pension provisions in contracts from both actuarial modeling and pension administration viewpoints; and/or (5) lead governance and special initiatives to support internal functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Articulate complex actuarial and pension-related topics to the Head of US PRT. Establish yourself as the authority on defined benefit pension plans within the organization. Analyze pension risks, compute premiums, and tailor contract terms impacting premiums or operations. Facilitate onboarding processes and foster collaboration across departments. Implement governance, controls, processes, and procedures. Review actuarial calculations and methodologies within a controlled framework. Execute the actuarial model risk management strategy, including model development and validation. Leverage technical knowledge to assist Operations and Valuation teams, ensuring accurate financial reporting. Employ innovative thinking and sound judgment in project leadership.

Ideal Qualifications:

Experience with defined benefit pension plans. Proficiency in interpreting and applying complex pension plan provisions, along with drafting related documents. Background in Pricing, Valuation, Actuarial Modeling, Pension Administration, or Contract management. Experience in pension benefit calculation modeling, testing, or execution. Project management skills. Self-motivated individual comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity, with the ability to explore various solutions. Understanding of governance best practices and necessary controls. Competence in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with VBA coding is advantageous. Ability to thrive in a dynamic team setting, possessing strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a knack for simplifying complex information. Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline. Actively pursuing certification from the Society of Actuaries, Enrolled Actuaries, or the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries.
