Manufacturing Engineer II

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing the manufacturing processes for our reusable space vehicles. Your expertise in investment casting, quality assurance, and process development will help us achieve our goal of making space travel accessible and affordable for millions of people.

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes for investment castings, ensuring high-quality components for our space vehicles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new manufacturing processes, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Conduct statistical analysis and process control to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing teams, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to meet production demands.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes for investment castings, including mold and gating design, shelling sequence, and material selection.
  • Conduct process control and statistical analysis to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new manufacturing processes, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing teams, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to meet production demands.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, with 7+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, or process development.
  • Direct experience with investment casting, quality assurance, and process development in a production environment.
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis, process control, and quality management systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
