About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at St. Joseph Medical Center. As a PACU Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth transition for patients from the operating room to the recovery area.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care according to individual physician orders, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Utilize your clinical expertise to identify and address patient needs, providing individualized care and support.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years current experience in an acute, inpatient PACU setting within the last 3 years strongly preferred.
  • Experience with airway emergencies, such as laryngospasms, airway obstruction, stridor, and arrest.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of date of hire.
  • Certified Perianesthesia Nurse (CPAN) or Certified Ambulatory Peranesthesia Nurse (CAPA) preferred.
