Experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse

The University of Maryland Medical System seeks a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the advancement of our unit's practice.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients, utilizing your expertise in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in unit governance, contributing to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices that enhance patient care and safety.
- Stay current with the latest evidence-based practices and technologies, applying your knowledge to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, ensuring clear and timely exchange of information.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland or eligibility to practice due to Compact state agreements.
- At least 1 year of experience as a bedside nurse in a Pediatric Unit, with a strong track record of providing high-quality patient care.
- Competent evaluation with successful passing of probation, current on all mandatory classes/training.
- Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education/year, with a focus on pediatric critical care.
- Member of a professional organization, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Recent applicable clinical experience in a comparable setting, with a strong understanding of pediatric critical care principles and practices.
- Ability to learn and use computer systems to manage patient information, with a focus on electronic health records and other relevant technologies.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
