Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Automotive Billing and Title Clerk at Merit Chevrolet Co.

This position involves accurately handling all financial transactions related to vehicle sales, including billing, titling, and processing paperwork.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, as well as experience in the auto industry.

This is a full-time or part-time, individual contributor role located in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.


Responsibilities
  • Process all financial transactions related to vehicle sales, including billing, titling, and paperwork.
  • Verify accuracy of all paperwork and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Calculate and prepare sales tax and license fees for each vehicle sold.
  • Review and follow up on vehicle titles to ensure timely delivery to customers.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all transactions.
  • Communicate with customers and dealerships to resolve any billing or titling issues.
  • Coordinate with lending institutions to obtain necessary documentation for vehicle financing.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in state and federal laws related to vehicle sales and titling.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an automotive billing and/or title clerk role (CDK experience preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience working with accounting software.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws related to vehicle sales and titling.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
