Job Summary:

As a skilled Automotive Technician at CarMax, you will be responsible for performing mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles in accordance with our high standards. You will work under general supervision, executing CarMax Standardized work, and ensuring that all repairs meet our quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute CarMax Standardized work, including engine repair, advance engine performance, and electrical systems repair.
  • Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering and suspension, and heating and air conditioning systems.
  • Inspect vehicles to ensure they meet CarMax Quality Standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to CarMax 5S standards.
  • Interact with customers in a friendly and service-oriented manner, explaining repairs and recommendations.
  • Manage parts inventory, receiving and processing shipments, and controlling service supplies.
  • Provide general support to store operations, including setting up and coordinating vehicle handling with sublet vendors.
Requirements:
  • ASE Certifications in Steering and Suspension, Brakes, Heating and Air Conditioning, Electrical, Engine Repair, Manual Drive Train and Axles, and Engine Performance.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lifting objects up to 50 pounds, and standing for extended periods.
