Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Equipment Delivery Specialist to join our team at Rotech Healthcare Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering and setting up medical equipment at patient homes, educating patients and caregivers on safe use and maintenance, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and set up medical equipment at patient homes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
  • Educate patients and caregivers on safe use and maintenance of delivered equipment
  • Assist in resolving customer equipment problems under emergency conditions
  • Assist with implementation of quality improvement programs to meet company and JCAHO standards
  • Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours in accordance with company policy
  • Communicate to supervisor any vehicle problems or conditions that would compromise safe operations
  • Complete shipping papers when transporting hazardous materials in accordance with Rotech policy and procedures
  • Complete written patient visit reports following setup and follow-up visits per company policy
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company, as well as all applicable governmental regulations
  • Develop basic reimbursement knowledge, completely document all information
  • Develop technical knowledge, as appropriate, of the HME or respiratory products
  • Maintain assigned company vehicle in a clean and safe working condition
  • Maintain delivery activity database
  • Maintain home oxygen systems in patients' homes per company policy
  • Manage territory to reach service goals and deliver equipment and oxygen as required in accordance with industry standards and applicable federal, state, and local governmental regulations
  • Prepare and maintain written company records, including invoices, work orders, manifests, and logs
  • Process all orders and required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner
  • Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required in accordance with company policies
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, required
  • Experience with medical equipment, preferred
  • One year of related work experience, preferred
  • Medical terminology, preferred
  • Skills and competencies, including accurately performing simple mathematical calculations, effectively communicating in English, interpreting a variety of communications, maintaining confidentiality, discretion, and caution when handling sensitive information, multi-tasking, self-motivation, organized, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills
  • Machines, equipment, and technical abilities, including email transmission and communication, internet navigation and research, Microsoft applications, office equipment, and mechanical aptitude
