Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Clinical Advancement Program in the Neuroscience department at the University of New Mexico Hospitals. As a Clinical Advancement Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to increase your compensation up to $8.00 in addition to base pay, with sign-on bonus and relocation reimbursement available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Provide clinical leadership for other staff and serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care.
  • Ensure adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
  • Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients, working within Hospitals, Nursing division, and departmental policies.
  • Work in collaboration with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
  • Participate in orientation and assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel.
  • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
  • Participate in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings, and workshops to enhance professional growth and development.
Requirements
  • Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
  • Nationally Certified in area of specialty Preferred
Working Conditions

This position requires heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work. Working conditions include a significant hazard of chemicals and biohazardous materials requiring personal protective equipment.
