Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to join our team at the Center for Health Care Services. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the nursing functions of our Crisis Services, Substance Abuse, Behavioral Health, and Primary Care departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of overall nursing care to patients in inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings.
  • Assist in processing bi-weekly nursing payroll and ensure accurate payment of shift differentials and overtime.
  • Collaborate with nursing, clinical, and provider staff to resolve emergent patient or nursing issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct annual evaluations for nursing staff and attend department or position meetings.
  • Develop and implement staffing plans for shifts based on patient acuity, census, and available staff.
  • Ensure proper orientation of new employees and provide continuous training and development of clinical staff to meet organizational demands.
  • Oversee staffing and management of patient care in respective units on a 24-hour basis.
  • Participate in all programs, licensure, and external audits, and prepare Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
  • Recruit, select, and hire nursing positions, and participate in employee mentoring, coaching, and discipline.
  • Promote highest quality standards of patient care by managing patient flow and promoting staff educational opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited university with two years' experience, or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited university with four years' experience.
  • Current Registered Nurse License to practice in the State of Texas.
  • Behavioral Competencies: self-motivated, energetic, self-starter, able to work independently with limited direction.
  • Evidence of continued professional development, including additional education, training, certifications, courses, conferences attended, and webinars.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements for Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) and CPR training, including lifting up to 12 lbs. and supporting up to 55 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters of Science Degree in Nursing or higher earned degree from an accredited university.
  • PHM-BC - Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (PMH-BC).
  • CNML - The Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML).
  • Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).
