About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Tipton Hospital, part of Indiana University Health. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality laboratory testing and diagnostic services to patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests on patient specimens and provide accurate and timely results.
- Maintain records of performance and adhere to quality control standards.
- Participate in research and development activities to improve laboratory services.
- Act as a key resource person for staff and provide training and guidance on laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Perform all tasks according to standard operating procedures and assume additional responsibilities as outlined by management or the laboratory director.
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences.
- One year of relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
- Certification or eligibility for board certification by ASCP; AMT; NCA or equivalent certification.
- Ability to maintain quality control and other records.
- Ability to use computer to enter and retrieve test results.
- Analytical skills to make quantitative and qualitative observations.
- Ability to work independently and handle constant interruptions and concurrent tasks.
- Knowledge of all laboratory safety regulations and protocols.
