About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to join our team at Wantage Nursing Home. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring that our residents receive high-quality meals that meet their dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the kitchen team, including Assistant Chefs and Catering Assistants
  • Prepare and cook meals to meet the dietary requirements of our residents
  • Monitor stock levels and waste, ensuring that the kitchen operates within budget
  • Carry out risk assessments and implement safety protocols
  • Recruit and train staff to ensure a high level of service
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of catering for older people and a valid food hygiene certificate
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
