Position Overview

The role involves the preparation and extraction of samples for analytical evaluation.


Upon successful completion of the initial IDOC for an analytical technique pertaining to a specific matrix, the candidate will be responsible for executing the initial calibration, daily quality control checks, and managing method blanks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Understand fundamental quality control requirements for at least one analytical technique.
2. Maintain meticulous records for analytical sequences and update the logbook on a daily basis.


3. Regularly load samples onto the auto sampler (if applicable) for a minimum of two analytical batches, covering both soil and aqueous matrices. Verify sample identifications and pH levels for aqueous samples, and perform sample dilutions as necessary.

Data Management

Produce analytical data, conduct thorough reviews, and input data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Deliver level 2 data packages with minimal errors.

Adhere to any special instructions specified in the work order.

Perform basic maintenance on instruments and auto samplers.


After demonstrating proficiency in the above tasks, the candidate is encouraged to learn additional analytical methods, enhance data reporting skills, and improve productivity for further analytical batches as time allows.
