We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Itinerant Autism Mentor to join our team at the West Virginia Department of Education. As an Itinerant Autism Mentor, you will play a critical role in supporting students with autism in a variety of settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support to students with autism in a variety of settings, including classrooms and community-based locations.
- Develop and implement behavior intervention plans to support students with autism.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure that students with autism receive comprehensive support.
- Provide training and technical assistance to teachers and other staff members on autism-related topics.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in autism support.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience working with students with autism.
- Knowledge of autism-related laws and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The salary for this position is $2,844 to $4,376 per month. The West Virginia Department of Education offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
