Restaurant General Manager Job Description

The General Manager is responsible for leading a high-volume restaurant to achieve profitability and meet McDonald's critical customer standards of Quality, Service, Cleanliness, and Food Safety.

This is a challenging role that requires collaboration with the Area Supervisor to set restaurant goals and create a plan to achieve them, aligned with the McDonald's PACE system.

The General Manager leads a team of Shift and Department Managers, helping them set their own goals, following up on their progress, and providing coaching and direction to improve their Departments.

To meet restaurant goals, the General Manager may also be responsible for hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to ensure the restaurant has the right team to lead into the future.

Requirements
  • Previous General Manager experience running high-volume locations
  • McDonald's Hamburger University graduates preferred
  • Technical experience with certifications in OTP2 or OTP3 desired
  • Background in quick service restaurants, hospitality, or retail strongly desired
