We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Travel Nurse. As a Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and making a positive impact on the lives of our patients.
Job Summary:The Medical Surgical Travel Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions. This includes conducting patient assessments, prioritizing data collection, and implementing appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities:- Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
- Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
- Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
- Educates patients on surgical procedures.
- Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
- BLS certification
- 2 years of recent acute care experience
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
- Ability to easily lift 20 pounds
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative
