Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to lead and manage our client's AV Engineering Department at a fast-growing medium-sized commercial AV integrator. The ideal candidate will oversee the department's schedule, ensure the quality of work, and collaborate with the sales team on project designs and quotes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the AV Engineering Department, ensuring timely completion of projects and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical expertise and support on project designs and quotes, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and budget requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to project teams, ensuring seamless execution of AV projects.
  • Manage relationships with partners, vendors, and clients through direct interaction and networking events, fostering strong business partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed schedule for all Engineering Department tasks and responsibilities, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Assist with proposals, scopes of work, take-offs, and other duties to support the sales team, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of project materials.
  • Collaborate with Architects, Consultants, Contractors, Vendors, and Clients to provide technical assistance and ensure proper preconstruction requirements.
  • Produce drawings, BOMs, and other documentation to support Purchasing, Project Managers, and Technicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of project materials.
  • Provide technical expertise to the project team on AV projects, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and budget requirements.
  • Manage relationships with partners, vendors, and clients through direct interaction and networking events, fostering strong business partnerships.
  • Obtain an AVIXA CTS-D certification within 90 days of hire, demonstrating commitment to professional development.
  • Complete certifications as assigned by Management, ensuring ongoing professional growth and development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or extensive experience with AV Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of AV Engineering experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Understanding of AV technologies and products for commercial applications, including Control Systems, DSP, and other AV product setup and programming.
  • Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and Microsoft Office suite, ensuring seamless integration with project teams.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Crestron, AMX, and/or Q-SYS programming certification is a plus, demonstrating advanced technical skills.
  • Ability to obtain AVIXA CTS-D certification within 90 days, demonstrating commitment to professional development.
