Unit Manager Registered Nurse Job Description

Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Registered Nurse (RN) with leadership experience in long-term care to join our developed nursing team as a Unit Manager RN. This is an additional support role, working with our other RN Unit Managers on staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervises nursing care provided by nursing assistants, licensed vocational/practical nurses, and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Interviews, recommends hires, and trains employees.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work.
  • PCC, Point Click Care knowledge.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and clinical expertise required to effectively supervise all nursing activities in the facility or the units to which assigned.
  • Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems relative to the unit(s).
  • Promotes and protects residents' rights; assists residents to make informed decisions; treats residents with dignity and respect.
Requirements:
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in this state.
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience preferred as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related healthcare facility. Must have, as a minimum of six (6) months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
  • Must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical/drug screen.
