Position Overview- Specialty: Telemetry
- Discipline: RN
- Employment Type: Travel
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Shift Length: 12 hours
Unit Details: The position is within the Nursing Resources - Float Pool, which includes various units such as 3P, 4P, and 5P. The float pool may require flexibility to assist in different areas, including potential assignments in PCU based on experience.
Responsibilities- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 6 patients in Med-Surg; 1 to 4 in PCU.
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI.
- Experience: Proficiency in Med-Surg, Telemetry, and Critical Drips is essential; familiarity with Chemo, Peritoneal Dialysis, and Trach care is preferred.
- Charge Nurse Responsibilities: Float Pool nurses may serve in charge roles on Med-Surg units, with training provided for those interested.
- Support Staff: Nurse aids are available with specific ratios for day and night shifts.
The unit is equipped with essential respiratory and monitoring equipment, including CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and IV pumps. Continuous monitoring is provided by dedicated staff.
Scheduling and Orientation- Shifts: Options for day and night shifts, with scheduling managed by the floor manager.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
- Orientation: Comprehensive orientation process including general hospital and unit-specific training.
