REGISTERED NURSE FOR HOSPICE CARE

Per Diem

Job Overview:

  • Utilize a comprehensive understanding of nursing principles and practices.
  • Ensure accurate care documentation that aligns with reimbursement standards.
  • Collaborate on the physical care of patients alongside families, physicians, and the hospice team.
  • Engage in effective communication with patients and families at all levels.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with all personnel within the agency.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and quality reviews as scheduled.

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN licensure in the state of practice, successful completion of an accredited nursing program, with a minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience and preferred hospice nursing experience of at least one year.
  • Familiarity with the structure, function, and organization of home health and hospice care programs, along with the nurse's role within the patient care team.
  • Proficient understanding of nursing principles and practices in accordance with the nursing practice act, agency policies, and reimbursement guidelines.
  • Completion of 12 hours of continuing education annually.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Willingness to travel as needed by the agency, including weekend, evening, and holiday on-call duties.
