Job Summary:
The Locomotive Engineer/Conductor is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient movement of trains, freight, and crew. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate trains safely and efficiently, complying with operating rules and train handling policies.
- Coordinate with dispatchers and track authorities to ensure smooth train movements.
- Inspect equipment and report any issues or concerns.
- Communicate effectively with crew members and other stakeholders.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as Federal Railroad Association rules and regulations.
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2-3 years of experience in train services
- Aptitude in the transportation field and desire to learn
- Pass post-offer job and health-related examinations
- Valid State Driver's License
- FRA Conductor Certified
- FRA Locomotive Engineer Certified (required post-hire)
The Locomotive Engineer/Conductor will work in a fast-paced environment, exposed to various weather conditions, loud noises, and fumes. Daily travel is required, and the ability to work a 24-hour schedule is necessary.
