Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Histotechnician to join our team at the University of Vermont Medical Center. As a Histotechnician, you will play a critical role in the preparation and processing of tissue samples for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately process and prepare tissue samples for histopathological examination
  • Perform routine and special histology procedures, including embedding, microtomy, mounting, and staining
  • Recognize and report procedural, instrument, and quality control problems to the Charge Histotechnologist
  • Prepare reagents, stains, and solutions according to established guidelines
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in an appropriate science field or Histotechnician (HT ASCP) certification
  • 1 year of experience in a histology laboratory, preferably comparable to FAHC
