Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to join our team at Selectek. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of raw materials, components, outside services, and supplies necessary for production.
This role involves developing and executing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that procurement activities support manufacturing operations efficiently and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to acquire raw materials, components, and outside services at optimal prices and within required timeframes to support manufacturing processes.
- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure favorable conditions for the company.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and supplies. Collaborate with planning and inventory control teams to forecast needs and maintain appropriate stock levels to prevent production delays.
- Manage the creation, approval, and tracking of purchase orders. Ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues related to order discrepancies or delays.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities. Implement cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and availability.
- Ensure that purchased materials meet quality standards and specifications required for manufacturing. Address and resolve any issues related to material quality or supplier performance.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality assurance teams to understand material requirements and resolve any procurement-related issues.
- Supervise/Manage one or more buyers.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, inventory levels, and cost savings. Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement in the procurement function.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred.
- 10+ years in procurement or purchasing management, with a focus on manufacturing environments.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Location: Canton, GA
Pay: $40-$45/hr
