ROLE SUMMARY

The Caregiver is responsible for ensuring the comfort, safety, and overall well-being of residents by assisting them with daily living activities, administering prescribed medications, and addressing their unique care needs while fostering relationships that respect their individual preferences and personalities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer medications to residents as per physician directives and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Review electronic Medication Administration Records (eMAR) each shift to ensure timely medication delivery.
  • Verify incoming medication orders for accuracy and update eMAR as necessary.
  • Collaborate with residents to provide assistance with daily living activities as outlined in their personalized service plans.
  • Respond promptly to resident call lights and safety alarms.
  • Monitor and report any changes in resident behavior or condition to the Care Coordinator and Director of Resident Care.
  • Manage medication inventory to ensure a sufficient supply is maintained.
  • Complete daily documentation and reporting as required.
  • Measure and record resident weights and vital signs.
  • Assist in training new staff members as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness in resident rooms, work areas, and common spaces according to established schedules.
  • Address spills and maintain hygiene standards as directed.
  • Support meal preparation and cleanup as needed.
  • Engage residents in planned activities and encourage participation.
  • Foster positive interactions with residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Remain attentive and alert during shifts.
