About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Developer to join our team focused on advancing product development and R&D projects. This role will involve designing and developing mechanical systems and components for metrology tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create new systems and prototypes, and conducting risk analysis and implementing mitigation strategies.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, including design principles, tolerance, error budget, materials, and thermal dynamics. Proficiency in SolidWorks and good modelling, detail drawing practices, and an understanding of GD&T are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components for metrology tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create new systems and prototypes
  • Conduct risk analysis and implement mitigation strategies using experiments, FEA analysis, or other relevant methods
  • Develop supporting documentation, such as assembly and test procedures

Requirements:

  • Doctorate (Academic) Degree with no experience, or Master's Level Degree with related experience of 3 years, or Bachelor's Level Degree related experience of 5 years
  • Strong technical skills in mechanical engineering, including design principles, tolerance, error budget, materials, and thermal dynamics
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and good modelling, detail drawing practices, and an understanding of GD&T
  • Experience designing systems for High Vacuum and Ultra-High Vacuum environments
