SSM Health is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our Float Pool team. As a Medical Assistant, you will provide assistance with patient care and administrative tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient care and treatment under the direction of a registered nurse or provider.
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Perform basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and scheduling patients.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
- Document patient information, including diagnoses, symptoms, and follow-up instructions.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Wisconsin ONLY - High School diploma or equivalent and graduate of accredited school of medical assisting required.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification required.
- One of the following certifications: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC), Medical Assistant (RMA), Medical Assistant Certification (MAC), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
This is a full-time position scheduled 40 hours per week on the day shift. Hours are typically 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, but may vary depending on department needs.
