Position Overview:
The role of a School Psychologist is crucial in fostering a supportive educational atmosphere. This position requires a minimum of 1+ years of experience in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, parents, and other specialists to establish a safe and nurturing learning environment.
- Conduct evaluations of students and prepare psychological assessment reports to assess eligibility for special education services. This includes Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), Classroom Needs Assessments, and other specialized evaluations.
- Assess students for potential risks to themselves or others and provide guidance to school teams and administrators based on these evaluations.
- Administer universal screening tools and manage data for progress monitoring to inform individual, classroom, and school-wide program planning.
- Possess knowledge of special education laws and regulations that govern the identification of students with disabilities.
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience in educational institutions or pediatric settings.
- A Master’s degree in School Psychology is required, with a preference for candidates having at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Licensure:
- Must hold a State School Psychologist License.
