Psychological Sciences Affiliate Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced part-time affiliate faculty member to teach in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Metropolitan State University of Denver. The successful candidate will have a strong background in psychology and a proven track record of teaching excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Teach assigned classes in person or online, delivering course content to students and preparing course materials and lesson plans.
- Grade student work and provide robust feedback in a timely manner.
- Address student questions and provide online or in-person academic support as needed.
- Provide instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus.
- Comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
- Masters in psychology or a related field, or a doctoral program in psychology.
- Teaching experience and demonstrated success in undergraduate psychology course areas, including clinical/counseling, developmental/family studies, cognitive/biological/experimental, and social.
- A doctoral candidate in psychology, a dissertation complete/defense pending in an appropriate field of psychology, or a Ph.D. in psychology.
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University's benefit program.
Salary and BenefitsThe final salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned at a rate determined by university policy. The University's benefits package is comprehensive and offers medical, vision and dental, free RTD pass, tuition reimbursement, as well as a life and supplemental insurance plans, retirement plans and other programs.
