Position Overview

The Ultrasound Technology Intern will work under the supervision of a qualified Ultrasound Technologist, assisting with both clerical and patient care tasks related to ultrasonic diagnostic procedures. These procedures may include vascular, abdominal, and pelvic sonograms as required by patient needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Ultrasound Technologist in performing diagnostic imaging tasks.
  • Engage in direct patient care and assist with administrative duties as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the radiologist to ensure adherence to established scanning protocols.
  • Participate in various departmental activities to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • Completion of at least one semester of formal ultrasound education, including clinical experience.
  • Preference for candidates in their final year of clinical training.
  • ARDMS registration must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Willingness to pursue ARDMS registration in OB/GYN within 24 months of hire.
  • Potential to achieve registration in additional ultrasound specialties (e.g., breast, vascular).
  • Previous experience in a related field is advantageous.
  • Current CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Availability to work additional hours as requested and be on-call during scheduled weekends and weekdays.
  • Competence in all functions necessary for ultrasound ACR accreditation.
  • Assist the Lead Ultrasound Technologist with various tasks as needed.
