Job Overview

The Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU) at OSF Healthcare is a 64-bed, private-room unit providing Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intermediate Care Unit, and Small Baby Unit services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage premature and high-risk infants with bedside invasive and non-invasive monitoring, conventional and high-frequency ventilation, and surgery in multiple specialties.
  • Perform procedures such as intubation, thoracentesis, PICC, arterial and umbilical lines as well as newborn resuscitation for all high-risk deliveries.
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, nurse practitioners, residents, APPs, nurses, respiratory therapists, and consultants from multiple specialties to deliver advanced care to premature and high-risk infants.
Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care to premature and high-risk infants.
  • Licensed to provide advanced practice nursing services in the State of Illinois as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
  • BLS/ALS certification and licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics.
