Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to join our team at Domtar. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing engineering solutions to improve equipment and process reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reliability Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of equipment and process failures to identify root causes and develop corrective actions.
  • Reliability Data Management: Gather and analyze reliability data from field studies and databases to inform maintenance and engineering decisions.
  • Reliability Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to improve equipment and process reliability, with a focus on increasing safety, productivity, and product quality.
  • Project Management: Coordinate new installations and modifications to ensure project performance objectives are met, while maintaining cost, schedule, and safety requirements.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance tradespersons and operations teams to ensure effective maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to maintenance tradespersons to enhance their skills and knowledge in reliability engineering.
  • Vendor Management: Manage and coordinate with external contractors and vendors to ensure timely and effective delivery of services.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and experience in pulp and paper or related manufacturing experience.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of equipment and process systems, including Provox, Delta V, Allen-Bradley drives and PLC, NFPA 70E, and high/medium voltage power distribution.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate project and technical activities across all levels of the company.
  • Industry Knowledge: General knowledge of pulp and papermaking processes.
