We are seeking a highly skilled Freight Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Southeastern Freight Lines. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.

Job Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about heavy equipment maintenance and repair. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical issues on trucks, tractors, converter gear, and forklifts. Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on heavy equipment, including trucks, tractors, converter gear, and forklifts
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations, to ensure optimal vehicle performance
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and other system failures on complex machinery
  • Work collaboratively with our team to achieve maintenance goals and objectives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certification in heavy equipment maintenance preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions

You will be working in a fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a variety of weather conditions. A clean driving record and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test are also required.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
