Job Description:

As an Advanced Application Engineer Specialist at 3M, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of innovative professionals to drive growth through customer collaboration, new application development, and new product commercialization.

This role provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career, leveraging your technical expertise and leadership skills to shape industry standards, practices, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to drive growth through customer collaboration, new application development, and new product commercialization.
  • Leverage 3M's global resources to drive higher impact Customer Inspired Innovation (CII) programs through increased market specialization that complement product expertise.
  • Build compelling value propositions for effective commercialization and provide increased coordination of field trials with lead customers or evaluating local competition and marketing practices.
  • Replicate and develop high-impact product/market applications with a focus on new application development and efficient replication leveraging e-tools.
  • Use expertise and credibility to shape industry standards, practices, and regulations; harness insights from market and customer process expertise.
  • Deliver customer and market-focused training through e-media.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Engineering, Material Science or related field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years of product or application development experience within a semiconductor field, in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed in this role include:

  • PhD Technical expertise in formulation for film coating, wet desmear processes for IC packaging, device engineering, and analytical characterization techniques of polymers including rheology.
  • Proven leader with ability to communicate clearly across functions, including lab, manufacturing, and business teams.
  • Experience in product and application development including phase-gate commercialization processes.
  • Skills include excellent written and verbal communication, networking, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Work location: Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood at least 3-4 days per week)

Travel: May include up to 20% domestic/international travel

Relocation Assistance: Not authorized

The expected compensation range for this position is $160,284 - $195,903, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible.

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.

The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
