About the Role

ENGIE North America is seeking a skilled Solar Technician to join our team at our Solar Site located in Texas. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our solar panel systems, performing routine maintenance and repairs, and troubleshooting technical issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Access and complete work orders via SCADA, Maximo, and SAP software systems
  • Repair, troubleshoot, and fulfill technical repair work orders for solar panels
  • Manage documentation, update parts inventory, and submit on-site status reports
  • Coordinate high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis, and safety meetings
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program with a focus on electrical theory and industrial electrical equipment
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in solar generation sites, wind generation sites, manufacturing, or mining operations
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification as a substation technician within 12 months of hire date
  • Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor
Additional Details
  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to worksites
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record to drive company vehicle
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE's policy regarding COVID vaccination and testing
