Family Liaison Specialist

Windham Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Liaison Tier II to join our team. As a key member of our school community, you will play a vital role in building strong relationships with families and promoting student success.
Job Summary:The Family Liaison Tier II will serve as a bridge between the school and community, providing services that benefit students and their families. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide a welcoming presence in the assigned school and communicate with families via phone calls and other outreach methods.
- Implement family information sessions and collect important information about events at the school to disseminate to families and community agencies.
- Prepare written materials to provide information to families and community members, including newsletters, reports, and logs.
- Recruit parents as volunteers within the school and coordinate volunteer schedules and assignment of tasks.
- Collaborate with school staff to support non-English speaking parents and students.
- Attend monthly trainings and meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices and policies.
- Train parents in Common Sense Parenting and People Empowering People annually.
- Maintain accurate data and ensure completion and accuracy for school and district reporting.
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Experience working in schools supporting students preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with occasional nights and weekends. The Family Liaison Tier II will report to the Principal and/or Assistant Superintendent or Designee.
