Position Overview:

A primary focus is to ensure that the Kitchen Department operates at peak efficiency while upholding the esteemed standards of Soho House. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about gastronomy and possess natural leadership qualities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example alongside the Executive Chef to provide exceptional dining experiences by managing back-of-house operations, staffing, food production, and accommodating special dietary needs while adhering to allergy protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations as mandated by Soho House and local authorities.
  • Foster professional relationships within the team and offer educational opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge across various business aspects.
  • Conduct training sessions and demonstrations to promote safe work practices and proper procedures in potentially hazardous situations.
  • Streamline processes to maintain an efficient kitchen environment while ensuring the highest quality standards for all dishes served.
  • Source and prepare premium ingredients to develop seasonal menus, ensuring adherence to recipes, presentation standards, and food safety protocols.
  • Oversee staff scheduling, payroll management, kitchen setup and breakdown, and ensure staff compliance with uniform standards.
  • Encourage teamwork and effective communication between front and back-of-house staff to facilitate smooth service and kitchen operations.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create event menus, manage food preparation, and ensure quality service delivery.
  • Share responsibilities for proper food storage, ordering, cost management, equipment maintenance, sanitation, and hygiene in accordance with company and local standards.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a high-volume culinary environment that reflects global culinary trends and consistently delivers elevated dishes.
  • Culinary training and a strong desire to develop and advance as a Chef.
  • Proficient in managing P&L statements, labor costs, vendor relations, and quality control while achieving revenue targets.
  • Demonstrated stable work history with a commitment to operational support as both an individual contributor and a leader.
  • Food Serve Safe certification and familiarity with local sanitation regulations are essential.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including timely email etiquette.
  • Experience in training and leading teams, along with expertise in large-scale food production and quality operations.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent trade school certification is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
  • Capability to perform fast-paced movements across various areas of the property.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull at least 30 pounds.
  • Occasional kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing may be required.
  • Physical activities such as lifting, cleaning, and stooping are part of the role.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
