Job Summary

Gannett Fleming is seeking a highly skilled Highway Engineer to join our Eastern PA highway team. This hybrid position will be based out of either Valley Forge Office, Philadelphia Office, or Lehigh Valley Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering design tasks for highway projects from preliminary to final design
  • Develop construction contract documents including plans, specifications, cost estimates, and review construction documents such as shop and working drawings
  • Establish working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project managers, especially in PennDOT, local governments, and private clients
  • Provide engineering design services for traditional design-bid-build projects and design-build highway projects
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers in developing plans, including implementation and knowledge of cross sections, traffic control, drainage, and signing and pavement markings plans
  • Collaborate with highway staff to develop projects, including roadway, bridge, traffic control, signing, and pavement marking
  • Knowledge of hydraulic design and preliminary design for environmental documents is desirable
  • Ability to work in a multi-discipline team to complete tasks within scope, schedule, and budget
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License registered in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain within 6 months is required
  • 5-10 years' progressive engineering experience in highway design is preferred
  • Prior experience with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike projects preferred, including being well-versed in client design policies, standards, and specifications
