Job Summary

The Estimator position plays a crucial role in handling project estimates and collaborating with the sales team to manage customer accounts. This individual will work closely with engineering, vendors, and production staff to ensure accurate cost coverage and compliance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate multiple projects concurrently and provide proposals to the sales team before the bid date.
  • Contact vendors for pricing on required items and review vendor quotes to ensure they meet project specifications.
  • Review sales proposals with the sales team to ensure proper estimating and project requirements, timelines, and subcontracting opportunities.
  • Participate in Turnover/Kick Off meetings to ensure all necessary information and paperwork are complete, and the scope of work is clear.
  • Assist with Change Order Proposals in a timely manner, whether requested by the owner/client/architect or generated by Oldcastle.
  • Monitor project progress and status, and proactively address any issues, offer technical advice, and assist other staff to expedite assigned projects.
  • Support inside sales, production reporting, and invoicing as required.
Requirements
  • Estimating/Project Management experience, preferably in the construction or precast concrete industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large to small, complex bids/projects simultaneously.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Associates Degree / Civil Engineering preferred, or equivalent work experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand engineered drawings and blueprints.
