Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled CNC Machining Specialist to become a vital part of our manufacturing team. This role involves operating a variety of manual and CNC machinery to process different castings, fabrications, subassemblies, and other materials. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to interpret technical drawings and utilize measuring instruments effectively.
This is a full-time position with a focus on the third shift, operating from Sunday to Thursday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret technical drawings and understand dimensional tolerances.
- Apply basic machine shop practices in daily operations.
- Operate a range of manual and CNC machining equipment as directed, including radial arm drill presses, CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers, disc grinders, and various hand tools.
- Utilize measuring tools to ensure precision in machining boiler components.
- Set up and adjust machinery as needed to meet production specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation for inventory and work processes.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned that align with skill level.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant experience or training is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams is advantageous.
- Familiarity with measuring tools is essential.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position require the employee to frequently sit, use hands for manipulation, reach, and occasionally stand or walk. The role may involve lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Vision capabilities required include close and distance vision.
Work Environment:
Employees in this role may encounter moving mechanical parts and varying weather conditions. The work environment can be loud, and safety precautions are essential.
