Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Dietitian 2 to join our interdisciplinary team at the Capital District Psychiatric Center. As a Medical Nutrition Therapist, you will provide expert nutrition care to patients, consulting with physicians on nutrition support requests and planning and supervising the preparation of special diets and menus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients, including consulting with physicians and planning and supervising the preparation of special diets and menus
  • Maintain safe and sanitary conditions in the food service area
  • Train or assist individuals, families, and staff to plan specialized and therapeutic nutrition care plans
  • Supervise dietetic interns and technicians, and/or supervise a small food preparation service unit

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • New York State Education Department (NYSED) certification in dietetics-nutrition
  • Minimum of an additional 400 hours of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of an RD
