Peer Tutor

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Peer Tutor to provide academic assistance to students. The successful candidate will work closely with students to help them achieve their academic goals, providing individualized support and guidance in a variety of subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic support to students in a variety of subjects, including reading, study skills, ESL, psychology, computer science, science, writing, physics, economics, and mathematics.
• Develop and implement effective tutoring strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
• Work closely with students to identify areas of need and develop plans to address those needs.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff to ensure seamless support.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in tutoring and academic support.

Requirements:

• Current matriculation at Westchester Community College or at any other two or four-year institution recognized or accredited as a post-secondary, degree-granting institution.
• Successful completion of college-level coursework in the subject matter with a minimum grade of 85% (B+).
