Position Purpose:

As a family medicine physician at Saint Anthony Hospital, you will practice medicine in our hospital, satellite medical offices, and provide hospitalist service call coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine patients for symptoms or physical information.
  • Order or execute various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition.
  • Analyze reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnose condition of patient.
  • Administer or prescribe treatments.
  • Determine and prescribe medication, dosage, and schedule given the patient's condition and allergies.
  • Perform surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency.
  • Refer patients to primary care physicians or medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient's well-being.
  • Document the patient's visit including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses, and plan of action.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree (M.D., Doctor of Medicine and D.O., Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) or equivalent.
  • Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Board of Internal Medicine, or the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
  • Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress.
  • Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, professional, outgoing, and customer service-oriented.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining an extremely positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and productively with minimum supervision.
  • Recognize problems, identify possible causes, and resolve routine problems.
  • Team player with a 'can-do' attitude that can work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a professional atmosphere for employees, clients, and customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
