Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate patient care in the operating room, ensuring that all patients receive high-quality care and attention.
- Direct and supervise nursing staff in the execution of the nursing process, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and activities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Perform the duties of the OR Registered Nurse, including administering medications, monitoring patient vital signs, and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
- Develop and implement nursing care standards, ensuring compliance with departmental and organizational policies.
- Act as a professional liaison with physicians, observing and providing feedback on their performance and patient care.
- Participate in the development and implementation of recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain top nursing talent.
- Lead daily huddles and attend staffing huddles to discuss next-day schedules, staffing needs, and patient care priorities.
- Ensure timely turnovers, assist with turnovers, and organize breaks and lunches for nursing staff.
- Responsible for weekly narcotic counts, daily code cart checks, and other quality assurance activities.
- Work collaboratively with various departments to resolve errors and troubleshoot issues.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a hospital OR setting.
- Current Arizona Nursing License.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current ACLS certification preferred.
