As the Chief of Cornea & External Diseases Service, you will be responsible for providing outstanding patient care, demonstrating commitment to research, and engaging in the teaching and mentoring of students, interns, residents, and fellows. Our team has a long track record of excellence in clinical care, vision research, and cultivating leaders in the field.
We are looking for a clinician-scientist, clinician, or clinician-educator who is board-certified as a cornea specialist and has at least 5 years out of fellowship training. The successful candidate must hold an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree and have or be eligible to obtain a full, unrestricted California medical license by the time of hire.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in clinical, translational, or basic science research, with a track record of productive research and the goal of obtaining extramural funding in the future. Our department has been ranked #3 among all ophthalmology departments in the country in terms of NIH research funding, according to the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research (BRIMR).
This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, and exempt faculty position with an annual base salary range of $250,000 - $350,000 plus productivity incentives. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and provide ample clinical, teaching, research, and leadership opportunities.
