About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team at Royal Vista Veterinary Specialists. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing end-to-end care for our patients, from triage and diagnostics to treatments and support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proper triage and diagnostics for incoming emergency room patients
  • Treatments of hospitalized patients, including IV catheter placement, drug administration, radiographs, and lab diagnostics
  • Overnight care of hospitalized patients, including monitoring vitals, administering medications, and replacing IV catheters
  • Animal handling and restraint, anesthesia induction and monitoring, and drug calculations and administration
  • High-quality nursing care with the ability to triage patient needs
  • In-house laboratory testing, surgery/procedural setup and cleanup, and client communication/education
Requirements
  • Phlebotomy skills
  • IV catheter placement experience
  • Animal handling and restraint expertise
  • Anesthesia induction and monitoring knowledge
  • Drug calculations and administration skills
  • High-quality nursing care with the ability to triage patient needs
  • In-house laboratory testing experience
  • Surgery/procedural setup and cleanup skills
  • Client communication/education skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional and competent in technical skills
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and honest
  • Available to work a variety of shifts, including swing shifts, overnights/graveyards, weekends, and holidays
  • Certification as a licensed veterinary technician required
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in emergency/critical care
