About the Role:

The Server is a key member of our Harmony Senior Services team, responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences for our residents and guests. As a Server, you will be the face of our organization, ensuring that every meal is served with a smile and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a good working knowledge of all dining room and kitchen responsibilities and procedures.
  • Understand and operate basic kitchen equipment, including food processors, dishwashers, and beverage machines.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work area in the kitchen, serving area, and dining room.
  • Understand proper table setting for each meal and maintain a high level of presentation.
  • Assist residents with ordering from the menu and provide beverage service, including water, iced tea, juices, milk, and coffee/tea.
  • Refill salt, pepper, and sugar bowls prior to and after each meal.
  • Report any broken equipment or tableware to the supervisor.
  • Understand and practice sit-down service and proper serving techniques.
  • Have a basic understanding of food preparation, including salads and desserts.
  • Knowledge of proper food storage and labeling techniques.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum the kitchen and dining room.
  • Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
  • Complete all other duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Be attentive to the special needs of residents, including mobility deficits and memory impairment.
  • Assist with tray service and follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
  • Interact with residents, guests, co-workers, and supervisors in a polite and considerate manner.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to read and follow simple instructions.
  • Must possess the ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to learn quickly and apply learned principles.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, push, and pull objects.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and carry heavy objects for 20 feet.
  • Must be organized and willing to work well with other team members.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
