Responsibilities:

* Produce accurate and complete transcripts of court proceedings
* Review, format, and proofread transcripts for accuracy
* Provide real-time translation for judges and other court officials
* Maintain files and records of notes and transcripts
* Prepare cost estimates and invoices for transcript requests

Requirements:

* Associate's degree or 2 years of college
* No prior experience required, but additional relevant work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required formal education
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Work Environment:

* Office or similar indoor environment
* May be required to work in a high-stress environment

Physical Effort Requirements:

* Medium Work- Exerting up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects

Exposures:

* Individuals who are hostile or irate; individuals with known violent backgrounds
